Well this was one of my favorite stands in an Apple orchard... Only tree around big enough for a stand..hung it last month same.tree I've used since 99 went to trim it out today.... Sigh

Looks like you won't even have to climb the tree to take down that stand! Did you get hit by a tornado? how much other damage did you get? May have to build a ground blind for the orchard!

that's a crazy picture. Spent all day sunday in the woods. A decent amount of chainsaw work clearing approach trails, runs and game trails. Lots came down this year but thankfully no stands. My dad has spent countless more days just clearing the growth from the great growing conditions. The positive being that all the crab apple and pears are loaded!

That is weird.  Does look like its just bending over.  Check for a rope holding it down, perhaps its now a catapult.

Those treestand kills didn't count anyway, looks like a good spot to hunt from the ground. Sit right behind the tree and shoot under it.

Well , those straps on the ladder sections seem to be pretty strong .

But that's taking hinge cutting to the extreme !

If it makes you feel any better, this morning some idiot dropped a brand new "still zip tied together" set of climbing sticks out of the bucket of the tractor and ran over them.

I couldn't even get mad, my daughter got a good laugh at my expense.

Set up a natural blind behind it!!!  Especially if it's a good spot!  That sucks.

This is an 18in diameter hickory.. Only realmspot for shooting because undergrowth to thick and Apple canopy was to low.. Will take a year to re landscape the area for another stand.. Only took 3 years the 1st time..

that happen to me twice what an erie feeling. like said TF a tripod would work they came a long way and are a little cheaper now a days.
