Fletch
Finally seen a deer! I had to move a ladder stand due to a fallen tree. I’m sweaty and warm but stayed in anyway. Spike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TreeGuy
Bill. Be pleased that there was plenty of poults and they looked very healthy. We had some action ! Great night in the blind. Had a doe w/2 fawns come in. I was ready to send it, till she turns towards us and literally came too close to shoot. Also saw a good buck on the opposite side of the field. He barely moved the whole time so we snuck out of there without disturbing his bean eating. Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk
turkeyfeathers
Small doe n fawn at 35. 2 doe at 80 eating alfalfa. Beats sitting at home. Always the next time
Don_C
First sit today. It was beautiful, a few small bucks walked by, and saw a doe flush a grouse and take off running like she had no idea what had happened. Really cool.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Arcade Hunter
What an awesome end of the day! 35 minutes left and down the adjacent side of the bean field, I watched a bruiser come out in the field.. hanging close the the wood line. It looked apparent he was just gonna hang right there so I let out a few grunts and up goes his head! Nothing but horns on this guy.. he's a big boy. He starts walking straight to me stops at 80 or so. I let him mill around for a little bit and grunted again. Up goes his head again looking right at me... I'm brushed in really well and he can't find me. Now he moves in to 60 and is hanging out feeding, keeps looking in my direction... Then I notice there's another bruiser right where this one came out... One more grunt and I get this guy in to 50 and he is looking real hard for me... Another little grunt but he just won't get any closer. I need him at 30 but he was having nothing to do with it. Meanwhile, shooting light expires but I stayed and watched him rejoin his big buddy back at 100 or so. I took a long walk back so I didn't spook them... Splitear
It’s nice when they fall a few yards from the stand. First ever deer hunt in NY, found a good tree after a 5 minute walk in. Farmer manured the field around 5:00, and 3 does came in. After about 20 minutes of making their way through the hay field, got a good 25 yard shot, and this big girl piled up about 20 yards from my tree. Ive got enough meat to last a while now, so I can enjoy the rest of October with my wife and daughter, and hit it again with the new muzzleloader for gun season.

Hock3y24
Took the evening off and drove around, deer are pounding green fields here at 5-5:30. Pretty early. Many areas with no acorns which is rare here. If you find acorns sit on them cause they are pounding the ones they find. Im sneaking behind my house in the morning for a quick sit. BowmanMike
I climbed into a branchy poplar yesterday afternoon at the edge of a field overlooking some apple trees. It was a funky tree to be in but had the most cover. I thought the spot looked amazing but nothing showed. I guess next time i will push further in,this was my first hunt at that new property i get to hunt this year.
stubborn1VT
Hunted at the farm opening day. I bumped one under my stand in the dark on the way in. Saw nothing. Hunted an overgrown pasture in the afternoon. Nothing. I hunted at my house last PM. Deer have been coming out behind a strip of corn I planted. I gave it a shot #Fromtheground. Ended up seeing a doe with twins and another "adult-ish" doe. I probably should have shot the second doe, but I was happy to watch them eat clover. Earlier in the day I saw 9 turkeys and I couldn't tell the hen from the poults. All in all, a very good day. Congrats to all the successful hunters, especially RobHuntandFish. I will be back out there Thursday. Waiting on a north/west wind to get in a stand closer to bedding.. 1
