  3. We used to hunt a property along with an Amish guy named Enos Biler. Hed come out of the woods on the coldest night wearing his blue pants and blazer along with whatever layers he could fit under it. One time I said Enos how do you stay warm, and he looks at me and nonchalantly says "I dont"

  10. From my point of view, sadly, it appears that the Republicans and Conservatives are at this point disjointed. Federally as well as Statewide here in NY. They cannot and do not agree on anything. They have not put up a strong, viable candidate against Cuomo in the last two elections. While the Democrats and Socialists, have circled the wagons with an all for one, and one for all mindset. I have lost my faith in the politics of ANY party. The swamp keeps expanding, with more and more career politicians. Who could care 'doodly squat' for the people they supposedly "represent". And care far more about funding their next election campaign. Selling themselves like whores to the highest bidders. I'll continue to use my vote, to do my part. But it seems like I'm drowning in swamp water.

  16. I lost so many guns in a boating mishap, after the Safe Act. My grandson is a strong swimmer. Perhaps he will find them one day. The monetary value, is way down on the list for why I have guns. Though I do have a couple worth a few bucks. I don't really think of any of them in dollars and cents.

  17. My first trip to Mohawk Taproom won't be the last! Excellent reubens and this freshly tapped As Above So Below by Mortalis Brewing is a coffee stout lovers gem. Huge roasted coffee and decadent chocolate brownie flavors underlaid with rum and coconut. Really smooth, really good at a 10.5% ABV.

  20. I was actually asked a similar wuestion while at the event in Texas a couple weeks ago. I was asked is there anything that I cannot do with the prosthesis, that you wish you could do...The way I answered that was like this....I have used myoelectric hands for over 25 yrs, and combining that with being born this way, I will always find a way to complete a task that needs to be done. I was trying not to sound arrogant by that, but I am such a determined person that I get mad if anything tries to defeat me. Knowing that, if the task is somewhat sketchy with the use of the prosthesis, I will just remove the arm and do what I need to without it on. Hopefully that answers your question? Also, this is not specific to any prosthesis, but what I cannot do with any prosthesis is eat with it, I wod love to be able to feed myself with a fork with the prosthesis itself. I simply do not have the range of motion with my elbow to bend far enough to reach my mouth, not even close. Also, I am not sure at this point what my next arm/hand combo will be. I have been wearing this brand new Michelangelo hand with the life like skin covering, and compared to my 6 yr old Michelangelo with the black skin glove, the wear on thr joints, etc is not really noticeable compared to new. Hand has over 700 parts in it, so I an surprised the hand is not sloppy if that makes sense. I might go for a new Michelangelo hand, but I would have a completely different arm built for the hand. the new arm when the time comes, will hopefully have a different socket design(where my real arm goes into the fake arm). It will hopefully be a skin fit style, with an air bladder pump, that adds a little support to the prosthesis on my real arm. Hard to describe. My current arms have that silicone liner that rolls onto my real arm, and it has an integrated pin, that inserts, and attaches to the inside of the arm to hold it on firmly. The new socket im hoping wont have this liner setup, and will use that air socket I mentioned before

  21. Won by Love by Norma McCorvey, Gary L. Thomas (Goodreads Author) 4.32 · Rating details · 194 ratings · 38 reviews As the plaintiff behind the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case, Norma McCorvey became known as the poster child for the pro-choice movement. But underneath she led a life of drug and alcohol addiction as she increasingly felt alienated by the wealthy and famous elements of the pro-choice crowd. Then to make matters worse, her worst enemy, the pro-life group Operation Rescue, moved in next door to her clinic.Norma's story is a heartwarming tale of how Christians from Operation Rescue -- led by a seven-year-old girl named Emily -- banded together to break through even the hardest of hearts. Few expected that a woman who once told a reporter that she "lived and breathed" for abortion would one day walk next door, give her life to Jesus, and begin working for the people she once hated. Won by Love not only reveals the shocking, inside machinations of the abortion industry, but also reveals an inspiring tale of how God uses love to mold hearts to His service.

  23. After tallying up the points, Id like to announce the winners of the 2018 HuntingNY Whitetail Challenger! First place goes to Gencountyzeek with 56 total points! Second place goes to chefhunter86 with 52 points! Both of you, please message myself, landtracdeerhunter and burmjohn with your address info so that we can ship your prizes. Unfortunately, none of the youth that entered the contest submitted entries, so there are no youth division winners. I will be opening up a separate youth only contest in the next week or so, and we will use some of the prizes for that. The rest will be saved for the youth spring turkey contest. The Hero Shot winner will be announced soon. I will be having my son Evan look through all of the pictures submitted, and he will choose the best one. Unfortunately, he wont be with me till next Tuesday, so youll have to wait lol. Congrats to the winners and a big thanks to everyone that entered, as well as landtracdeerhunter for handling all of the prize packages and other help in running the contest. A special thanks goes out to everyone that donated prizes for the contest. Without you guys and gals, we couldnt have done this!

  28. I've sold a bunch of guns over the years that I wish I could have back, and I have a bunch now that I really wish I had gotten rid of. I have friends who collect comic books and/or baseball cards and who brag about what their collections are worth. The stuff is worth what somebody will give you for it. That's all. I start my wood stove with free local newspapers and old phone books. I wouldn't pay anything for comic books or baseball cards. But that's just me.

  29. How much time? However much time it takes for the price of a new one to go up to the point a used one is a better buy at it's original price. Plus, when changes are made to the new ones that make a used one a preferred buy, the used one will be more sought after. There are many variables, but you will not find any firearm 20 or 30 years old in good shape, that won't sell for at least what it cost new.

  31. That's not entirely true. Your phone is likely setup to transmit certain message types via wifi. If your phone is connected to that wifi successfully, then you can send and receive those types of messages while on airplane mode. There are SMS, MMS, iMessage, etc. I do this all of the time while on Delta flights (you can text back and forth on their platform) and when I'm in the USVI to avoid picking up a BVI signal and costing me $$$.

  35. The whole online employment thing works out great for the employer, but only if they stay on top of maintaining all the information, which doesn't seem to be case a lot of the time with my wife & my kids' jobs. I work on a computer, we all know how to use one. But it just seems like one more lazy management tool, for managers who are lazy to begin with. One less set of expenses for the employer, and one more set for the employee who is underpaid already (smart phone, the bill that comes with it). And the whole "paper kills trees" line is a crock, they grow trees for paper on plantations and huge company owned forests, they're not clearing virgin forests to make paper. A computer or monitor or cell phone or batteries that winds up in a landfill aren't especially environmentally friendly. Nobody needs a drone, they are expensive play toys for people who probably have too many toys already. I know I don't want someone flying one around over my yard taking pictures or driving the dogs nuts.
