My father just turned 87 and we were going through some old hunting camp photos from Wells NY, I believe it’s in Hamilton County. Circa 1958. He still has his red and black woolrich coat and pants!

i had no intentions of ordering a bow today but.... walked into smiths great outdoors in batavia. I got my mission there 3 years ago, my wife bought me a rifle there for christmas last year, and we got our son a new mission bow for his 11th bday this year. I was just lookin around and asked what they had in lefty bows, and he handed me a new mission. Felt good shot good, we got to talking and i mentioned im looking into a DIY archery elk hunt next year. So then he comes back with a Bowtech carbon icon. This bow felt great, its light, the backwall is as solid as it gets and it shoots with no vibrations felt. Dammit...ok, so i ordered the bear bones one with 70lb limbs. Cant wait!

Thanks@dinorocks for hosting the academy tonight. We had myself, Lawdwaz, taco tim , sodfather and Jeremy K in attendance tonight. Even had the driveway marked for us to park. Arrow holders , yardages painted in yard , a walk through in woods with targets , metal detector was quick on the beep of arrow that zipped through a target. The sugar shack was great but dinner superb. Cast iron Dutch oven lasagna with Costanzas venison Italian sausage, duck eggs, spinach , 3 meat homemade meatballs , ricotta and bread for dipping. I just dont see how anyone cote vote and support the thoughts the Dem.s are offering. My God can you see that world if he got in? Trump might not be the best for the job but he is no doubt the best out of the choices we have.

Well corn is looking good planted mid may. Just entering dent stage r 5, need 20 to 26 days to black tip ( maturity ) puts me right at earliest frost date oct 1. Now if I could keep the damn black birds , squirrels, coon and other critters out of it for a few weeks..

This is the question i ask everyone that supports Biden and i never get an answer. Trump acts like a petulant child and says some really idiotic things.....BUT, he isn't going to raise my taxes, take away my 2nd ammendment rights, appoint left wing judges, he stands up for the police and the American way of life, speaks out against the protests, wants school choice (which will probably be too late for my daughter). There is a reason that these democrats aren't speaking out against all these protests, police chiefs stepping down etc. Its because these are their supporters. If that isn't reason enough, i don't know what would be.....I have nothing in common with BLM, Antifa and all these other left wing wacko groups and a Vote for Biden is a support for these groups. Period!

No, I do not see that as Trump's ultimate goal. And I see pretty good. And I think Trump has done a good job, better than I expected 4 years ago to be honest. Some military leaders dislike him but maybe because he has been cautious with sending troops in. His action with them have showed he cares . I do not know anyone who served who dislikes Trump but then they were not military leaders. The virus he has handled within his constitutional rights. I know you don't agree, but you really don't know the constitution well as shown above so we can leave it there. The protesting as it is called is nothing more than riots and looting. It is really too bad. All the protesting is doing is creating more division. I wish Trump would shut it down but he constitutionally can not. State rights and all. The economy is doing pretty good still. I work in a service industry, and also own my own business. I can not keep up, along with everyone I know. Even with a "pandemic " the economy is doing better than 4 years ago. The inflated unemployment numbers are sadly a direct reflection of political games being played because of the state government restrictions. The virus is being used for politics because of the upcoming election.

Cameras are a wonderful investment. Even a $90 doorbell cam that sends pics to your phone for free is a cheap alternative. Even if they take/destroy cam the images are already in the cloud. I hate thieves and think cutting off hands would be a great warning to others! Hope you make a recovery. But if not get a gun raffle going to get proceeds to replace your guns and upgrade the security. I will buy a ticket!

NYS Laws are crap sometimes, a 12 year old can take a bow into a tree stand legally but a 14 year old cant with a gun. Ill just say we don't sit on the ground during youth gun lol. Be safe and good luck!

Oneida lake a few years ago..

Not an eventful day, we took it easy after yesterday’s hundred mile ATV ride. We jumped in the vehicle, drove over to our favorite little town 19 miles up lake, to where we want to retire. We are thinking about buying a small chunk of land in the semi-near future here, to either use for our vacation, or to hang onto, use, and then sell for profit. We aren’t sure, just been a brainstorm the last few months. We peaked at a few places, to see what money can buy, had lunch, then relaxed on patio, dinner, now campfire. Also, this morning, while sipping my morning coffee on the chair, window beside was open, and I all of a sudden here a loud smack, as if a giant hammer hit metal, once. I look outside, a loaded log truck rear ended an old mini pickup, whom backed out, in front of the semi. The toyota’s hitch was bent down, like 45 degrees. I kept hearing “what the f#%*?!” from the truckers mouth. Time, is money, and he was pissed.

Hasn't changed a bit since last year. Can't believe he survived winter. His left hip is all caved in, and he doesn't put weight on that leg. His left hoof is all curled, too. Looks skinny. He's definitely number one on my list. Not the biggest, but super cool.

I have never seen so many grasshoppers on the property as this year, between working my food plot and tending the lawn..The poults should be getting lots of protien... I remember a year many moons ago when we had a late frost, and hoppers were still active in late October when fall turkey season opened here in SW NY.. My hunting buddy shot a jake that was very big for spring hatched bird <14 lb.>...That jake had a wad of grasshoppers in his craw as big as a man's fist....
