Won’t beat my state land buck.

Here’s one of the smallest operations, with a little help from our grandson. We make only about a gallon of finished. We keep a bottle or two and give the rest to the kids. Grandson helped with the brand development, lol.

Yea got back last week. The hunt went as well as it could have considering the conditions. My buddy and caught and let go two females, one on the first day and one on last. Our tags were either sex however we passed on them. Going back in Dec for another crack at a Tom.

Add another to the small operation army. Last year was my first year, 5 taps, also ended up with about a gallon. Didn't expect the amount of sap we got so I quickly went from the grill to building a small cinder block arch. Stepping it up to a drum barrel this year, and maybe next year I'll get a 2x2 pan. Just making enough for us to enjoy and give some away as gifts.

The NYSDEC will be the ones making the crossbow regulations. No more limits on draw weights or width requirements. Also full inclusion and lowering the hunting age to 12 .

Going to try my hand at it for the first time this year. I marked 10 maples on the camp property this summer, have bought 10 taps with down lines and received 10 buckets with lids as Christmas presents. I have a couple of 6 in deep steam table pans on order along with a filter holder and some filters. I need to pick up cinder blocks for a temporary evaporator set up. I'm thinking if the grandkids and I enjoy doing this I may make a barrel stove evaporator next year.

Depends on your budget. Most start off with some type of NV scope and Thermal spotter combo first, then after a year or two, add a thermal scope. Once you go thermal, it's all over for NV. While I'm told that there are a few out of a thousand ATN NV and thermal scopes that may work good, most don't. It's a roll of the dice that most lose.

I've been a bowhunter since the late 70s. The recurve I used to kill my first bow deer, looks nothing like the compound I shoot today. Yet in all these years, I have upgraded my equipment step by step, because it was easier, and better! Carbon arrows with Blazer fletching. Drop away rest. Fast cams. Peep sight, with fiber optic lighted pins. Cable slide. Centered riser with a slim grip. Bows sure have come a long way since I started! Why? I really don't give two spits what legal equipment other hunters use!!! It doesn't effect me in the least. Want to shoot a primitive bow? Nice! Want to shoot the newest technology compound? Nice! Want to use a "crossgun"? Nice! More power to ya! I will NEVER impose what "I do" on another hunter! I hope I never become that closed minded. Do your thing, let others do theirs. And just go hunt! Some good points in this proposed legislation. Will make some things "easier" and "better". I don't have a problem with that. Been doing it since the 70s!!

How about next time you try shooting for the biggest target the heart and lungs. The neck you have a 2 ½ inch target the spine with all the major arteries and veins running down both sides of it. the heart and lungs you have a 9 inch target higher percentage of a kill shot. That was a bad choice shot. If it was the only shot you should of let it walk.
