  1. Not live...but I helped my dad seal the deal this morning on a late season limbhanger. He never gobbled on the roost but the hunt was over by 5:45. He's tagged out and I have a babysitter now!

  4. Hello All, Please let me know if I'm out of line putting these forestry videos up here. Just figured hunters who own their own woods might find them interesting.

  5. Working from home today and got a pic at 9:59am from my cell cam, located ~125 yards from my house! LOL Big friggin' bird!! Been playing cat and mouse with this MOFO all season! My blind is right in the corner of the the field! He's passes by there quite frequently mid-morning. Might have to pack a breakfast (or 3 ) of these days and sit out there all morning.

  6. Didn't seal the deal, but a cool hunt this morning. Around 7:30 it's warming up and I'm thinking this is about it for me. I let go a last call, pretty aggressive set of yelps on the box call and I get some yelps in return, not too far from me. I answer back and she's moving in. My hopes of course is that this girl fight attracts some dudes or she has a boyfriend in tow. Well I see her movement about 50 yards in the brush and she's leaving. I call again and she comes back in fuming. We spend the next 45 freaking minutes together. At one point she came within 5 yards of me. For a good 15 minutes she just nested on a log haha. I know my calling is average at best, but I didn't know it was gay. I'm 3 for 4 on calling in hens this year haha

  7. Finally figured out why Bill's pictures are never right side up. He waits for the turkeys by hanging upside down from a tree limb. I guess the turkey's think he's a bat and pay him no mind. LOL

  8. If the sign isnt on the door Im not putting one on. The pool store had a sign so I wore one. Im getting truly pissed off that my daughter has to wear one playing softball. Its over 100 degrees on the turf field. If a kid gets hurt they should sue the school back to the stone age. Theyve been told by every expert that masks are unnecessary outside and Id argue theyre dangerous

  18. Once again, stop listening to the biased Main Stream Media that is feeding you all the lies you are swallowing. Here are the facts. https://www.westernjournal.com/az-auditors-really-backtrack-claim-files-deleted-ap-reported/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=westernjournalism&utm_content=2021-05-20&utm_campaign=manualpost&fbclid=IwAR2prViLGb_xKQ1GsJDONrsh_ArUPrwzBAnlLHGPtbJqofbth45EBtM-8d8 The AP story — like much of the coverage of the Arizona audit from the establishment media — was negative. It’s reminiscent of the coverage former President Donald Trump received during his entire four years in office. The AP should report it straight. The auditors did not back down from the assertion that files were deleted, and it’s just playing word games to say they did.

  19. I went into BB to look at TVs. Majority of customers with masks, but the dept manager in the TV section was maskless, so, off went my mask. I looked around and paid attention - it was more like 50-50 masks overall. It felt like liberation - a bra burning party type of liberation LOL. Dude got me for $1,700. LG OLED for the win.

  33. Well son had a walk and single Tuesday, yesterday had 1 at bat and had a rare strikeout. I cant remember the last time he struck out. Mod has been just what I expected, 18 man roster, 16 play each game and they rotate. Its EOB ( equal opportunity baseball) still, tons of errors, not playing the best kids all the time. This is why I enjoy travel ball much more! Were off to a tourney in Buffalo for his 12u team!

  36. Well the blind is done, just need to take it apart, load it on trailer, haul it back up the hill, then put it back up. And anchor it of course! I'm not real happy with my paint job, I think I got a little carried away with the leaves. Looks too busy, we'll see how it looks in the field.

  40. So..............Back to the original thread. I worked on the Cornell University campus from 1979 until my retirement in 2009. I watched the campus deer population explode and it was mostly because of societal changes. Back in the day, deer were hardly ever seen on campus and then usually in the dead of night or during the rut. Dogs on the other hand, were every where. As long as they didn't bite anyone they were allowed to run free. Students would bring them to class and leave them outside to play with the other pooches. Eventually, the policy changed and dogs had to be on a leash, often tied to campus landscape while the folks attended class. The CU Grounds Department successfully advocated for the removal of such dogs and the deer took over the landscape. By 2008 the sterilization program had started and 130+ class bucks were visible tending does for hours at a time on campus lawns! I honestly believe that a program of harrassing the deer population with dogs would have significantly reduced the campus deer population.

  41. So when I think of Ontario knives I think of some of the old military knives they made, I see them at auctions sometimes. I feel like there are several pilots knives floating around out there. I always see knives using the Ontario "Rat" as a comparison knife, I've never handled one. Just looking at a few specs, it looks like most of their folding knives are made in Taiwan, but the majority of their fixed blades are US made.

  44. I'll double down on this too, because why not. Do you think the fact that big deer drives and banging away at running deer being less common today and less hunters being shot and killed have anything in common? Know your target. Know what's beyond your target right?

  45. I voted for a woman I know very well who is running because shes tired of the way these kids have been treated and wants to ensure next year is completely normal. If theres any place "the science" ought to be followed its in the schools Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  48. I love hunting with my Lyman percussion great plains rifle. It just seems so....right. I have taken a few deer with it and have always had clean one shot kills...but I also hunt close. I prefer it and have more confidence in it than my T/C Triumph...until it rains. This year I am looking forward to hunting with my new Lyman Pedersoli Great Plains flintlock. I am still zeroing it in but am pretty close. The sights arent quite allowing me to adjust to my normal sight in ML dead on range (fifty yards for woods hunting), but I am working on that. I should be able to use the same load as I use for the percussion....80 grains of FF with patched .530 round ball. I needed to drop the charge to 70 for the flinter to lower my point of impact which bothers me.
