Is it still as a Wolc special even if I didn’t harvest the oysters or take a chest girth measurement??? First deer from the new climber. Setting up in the acorns within range of the field edge worked out last night. And the best part… I skipped this mornings hunt and slept in! Sorry @Lomax!28 points

Pulled a couple of cards on the way to the stand. Kinda windy and nasty but I got a couple of pics to warm me up. Think I might call the guy "HolynF@*k" which is what I said when I first saw them...12 points

Just got a text from my friend he went to check scrapes real quick he joked he would see his shooter because he forgot his bow. Well he's standing 65yrds from him with it walking his way and the only way out is right into the field he's in and he doesn't want to bump it. When I mean big it's this guy.8 points

Hunted this guy for several years. Came close. Most notably the year he was killed when he was on the decline losing 20-30”. Had a ruptured disc in my back and hunted a short stand. Sat until I locked up and couldn’t take the pain at like 3ish. I made it halfway to truck and had to lay down and rest. I pushed it too far. While dealing with the pain and general crappy state of affairs, my phone dings and he goes by that stand while I’m sitting in misery about 400 yards away and couldn’t do a thing about it. The plot image is the image I am speaking to. Had him nailed. But alas…7 points

Someone should have picked me. Figured I would sit in the woods last night and clear my mind. Shooting this buck wasn’t the brightest idea though. Didn’t find him and get him out and hung till 3am and left for work at 5 am… Hopefully I can get all the family stuff every one to my uncles funeral this week and maybe sneak down to KY next week for three or four days hunting.6 points

Last 15 minutes of stand time last night was a big ramp up in activity. This spot had about 5-6 acres of thick bedding brush hogged that bordered us this off season and we suspected a decrease in daylight visits to the food source was due to bedding being done further away. I had a 2 year old come by at 10 yards inside the timber and my partner had what appeared to be a good buck working a scrape on the other side of a brush line only 30 yard away from him. Wind switch with a single gust and he got scented. One of our shooters however, did give up a tell, as my partner saw him across the field only 75 yards from me, but I couldn't see the buck due to the lay of the field edge. Where the buck entered the field confirmed he is bedding in a hedge row that is about 20 yards wide and close to some houses. Thankfully we have a prehung near there that I am going to try to sit tonight with perfect wind and access. His field entry was about 45 yards away so I'll need to be ready. New 2 and 3 yr old bucks are showing up on cams in past 48 hours in nearly every property we hunt. Signs of the times. Still at dark, but they seem to be moving a bit more.6 points

Would love to see your pics or a story about a specific deer that you were never able to seal the deal with . This guy was from when I first closed on some property ,I deployed one cam ,and hunted another property .Even after checking cams and finding this guy on it ,I didn’t hunt it much .That ,I kind of regret .Last pic I got of him was mid December ,5 years ago .I’ve killed some nice deer on the same property ,but never seen him again .5 points

No deer seen while in stand but glassed field adjacent to woods on way out. He’s out there with 4 doe about 150 yards. Magnificent buck.5 points

Buck down . hit him with my Chevy truck on the way here …. Saw him running through yards on the other side of the road , I braked just in case then he committed to crossing the road wtf .Braked more moved over , BAM! He hit driver side fender / front , slide up the A post over the cab and would have landed in the bed, but there’s a locking metal cover he landed on! I pull in a driveway grab flashlight , no buck ,gone . Only damage is driver side mirror and bed cover is pushed in , in one corner . On stand seeking revenge on all deer !!!4 points

Love this picture of him... He gained mass last year. Have seen him with my own eyes 4 times... Once at 30 with no reasonable shot. No cam pics yet this year, but I'm hoping he still roams!3 points

This one still stings... Hunted this buck for 3 years. He was in my head and every move I made was trying to figure out how to cross paths with him to get my opportunity! He was the only buck I was going to settle for! His demise was getting kicked out on a drive down the road during gun season to a stander that wasn't from the area and had no history with the buck... Great video of him working a scrape https://photos.app.goo.gl/EDSDr9CN2QgvgFcS63 points

Last year I picked him up on cams numerous x. All at night. Never showed in day or cams in day. No gun zone. Have cams there now but guessing he perhaps died of old age.3 points

Your bow still has the zip tie on the cam, which makes you listed as "Doubtful"3 points

If you guys have iphones, there's a simple way. I use this for years. You put SD card into adapter, plug into your phone. Import all, then delete all. Now SD card is empty and pop back into camera. It takes under 1 minute to import and delete all the pics. Then you can go through them on your phone at your own leisure. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-lightning-to-sd-card-camera-reader-white/4803100.p?skuId=4803100&ref=212&loc=1&extStoreId=331&ref=212&loc=1&ds_rl=1268655&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpNDh4IbU8wIVUQaICR2RqwuFEAQYAiABEgIn-vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds3 points

Went out last night with my son for his first night out yote hunting. Nothing at stops 1 and 2. 3rd set i was asked to come to because the women watched a yote take one of her chickens a few nights earlier. Setup behind thier house and started calling. After the first call ended we had a pair sound off to our right and a group out infront. To say my son was pumped is a understatement. I had the dogs going for probably 10mins before the 1st one showed. The setup was perfect and the yote was coming straight in to us. Just before my son was ready to shoot i told him to hold off, 2 more yotes entered the field and were following the same path as the first. Thats when it got messy, the 1st yote decided it had stayed long enogh and wanted to leave, i got on one and my son said he was following the other. I shot 1st and the 2 yotes take off, for the 2nd time this seaon i had to swap mags, 1st shot of the 2nd mag dropped a yote. As a side note i had just resighted in my rifle with new thermal on it. The last hunt took 10 shots and dropped 1, it ended up 6" low...not sure why but resighted in and was good. After 6 shots to get this dog maybe not good? My son shot twice both misses but loved the action. So sometime this week ill be punching paper again with the thermal. Yote ended up being a mangy pup the homeowner has seen around her home.3 points

While I’m happy you didn’t reproduce as well ,did you ever think your kids may very well have gone on to solve the very problems you’re concerned about ? Our children have been a true blessing and joy , and have done much good along the way, from volunteering in an orphanage in Haiti to building Habitat for Humanity homes . Oh and Trump voters !3 points

That gadget downloaded and replicated a file in my iphone photos like 10,000 times - all with zero photos in it. Had the phone for two years, and still deleting empty folders. Have to because sometimes a folder I need will be folder 4,237 of them in order....at this point it's a running joke with my wife and hunting partner. Oh let me get that photo for you, 20 minutes later.... Small laptop and two SDs per cam. Swap and move.2 points

Today was a bust. Radar showed rain from Saturday night until 4ish Sunday morning, then a break until 10ish when the rain would resume. Stupid me believed it so was in the stand by 6. Walked in in the rain and told myself 'it's ok, it'll let up'.. 2 hours later and it poured the entire time. Down by 9. No deer seen. On the way home the sun came out and the rest of the day was decent. Ended up apple picking with the kids.2 points

Opinels are cool knives, very inexpensive but great quality. You won’t find any thing that’s much more simple and utilitarian in a folder. You can buy them in all different sizes, from keychain to very large. Below is my #12. I saw a #13 at an auction recently that was even bigger. Yours looks like it’s maybe a #6, which is a great size for pocket carry. The lock on them is primitive, but pretty much infallible.2 points

Did someone jaw age them or is this another PA girth chart? Bucks around here with 18” spreads and 9” tines are not 2.5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points
