Robhuntandfish
a post by Lawdwaz got me thinking .... what is your favorite quote/saying? Ive got a few but I like FISHERMAN'S OATH "I am a fisherman for life. I will always be a fisherman. It's not something I do, it is who i am. It is not a place, But a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me, and one I will show others. When you understand all of this, you will know me, and we will fish together. " Insert "hunt" for "fish" also works!
The_Real_TCIII
Behold the fisherman. He riseth up early in the morningand disturbeth the whole household.Mighty are his preparations. He goeth forth full of hope, returning when the day is far spent;smelling of strong drinkand the truth is not in him.

dbHunterNY
“In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen.” -Theodore Roosevelt "0 Lord, I am a hunter And life I seek to take But let me not attempt the shot Beyond my skill to make For Lord they are your creatures Given for our use But each one falls within your sight They're not for our abuse And when I loose my arrow Please guide it swift and true Or let it miss completely, Lord That pain be not undue A clean kill or no kill, Lord Such is my heart's desire Give me the skill to make it so Or let me hold my fire And when my time upon this earth The days they are fulfilled Grant that I may die at least As clean as those I killed" - bowhunter prayer ...less serious. my cousin: "i can't believe i missed that big buck! he was so close i didn't even need to use the pins!" "this is what happened. i bared down on him and to get crosshairs real steady. ....but my elbow layed right into the [car] horn."

G-Man
Better to pick the right tree to get a deer that you might see Then be in a tree and see a deer that you only may only get
airedale
“I hunt because I love the entire process: the preparations, the excitement, and sustained suspense of trying to match my woodslore against the finely honed instincts of these creatures. On most days spent in the woods, I come home with an honestly earned feeling that something good has taken place. It makes no difference whether or not I got anything: it has to do with how the day was spent.” Fred Bear

Pygmy
This is an easy one for me....From Tom Kelly's " The Tenth Legion", regarding turkey hunting.. " If you persevere, you will eventually kill a few turkeys that you do not deserve....However, if that same time, you will DESERVE a lot more turkeys that you do not kill.." Or words to that effect.....hehehe....Truer words have never been spoken....
