Since I didn’t hunt last year, it’s been some time since shooting my bow . I bought a HHA single pin slider and started sighting it in today. I was pretty happy with how i shot , this is my first group after rough sighting it in at 20. I still have to fine tune it yet as my archery muscles were a bit out of shape so I stopped ( quality over quantity ) . Sure did feel good to get out and shoot the bow though ..4 points

Should this go under the 2021 thread or back under the 2020 thread? Due to the mild fall, I was still picking kale and brussel sprouts into December (I think). Then just never got around to pulling the plants as winter set in. Now, the plants from last year seem to be picking up where they left off. I'm already pulling kale and using it!3 points

In case anyone is interested , one of the best if not the best (imo) turkey hunting shotguns is now listed on GunBroker. You don't find these very often.2 points

Say hi to Biz. Friend got his second Moderna yesterday midday - late 30s male, pretty fit and active. Down and out late yesterday and still feeling lousy. Countdown is on for my turn Friday.2 points

Got the opportunity to take a youth out this season. The kid has been raised around hunting but in the past year he's been involved with some rough times. He talks daily of wanting to get out hunting some gobblers. I haven't been out in years, kina lost the passion and only cared about whitetails. Well I decided im taking this kid out. Told him yesterday he could join me, he eyes lite right up. Now im all sorts of excited to get out there and chase some gobblers. I guess I should be thanking him for getting my passion back. Hopefully we'll get some yard birds to take a dirt nap.2 points

Just went for a drive by a piece of stateland that I know has birds and I found them. Just have to figure out roost the next couple days. There was 6 gobblers 3 jakes,1 bearded hen in a field we can hunt. I'm pumped now for this weekend. My other spot I had in mind always has birds but these one should be easier to get at as long as we get to them first.2 points

Yes, raw is good! And not just the leafy top part, eat the reddish stuff at the bottom too. Some shaved Parmesan on top would be a nice touch!2 points

Well just got a call from my nephew he needs someone to take him this weekend so I have some scouting to do this week. We will most likely end up where I had some luck last year.2 points

These two yellow bellied sapsuckers were going at it in the air and then our house got in the way. Heard them both hit the second story window and then saw them hit the deck, one of them right in front of me. Was just looking out the lower window when they crashed. No breathing, dead on impact. One of them still has feathers in his beak from the other. So, the obvious question is...deep fried or roasted?1 point

They found better accommodations apparently. No pics since over a week ago. A fat chuck was hanging around every day since they left. I think he’s land squatting on the hole.1 point

Assuming blue crab. Quite popular. It is popular in VB, too. Did that as a youth alot and would make $$$ selling them backchannel to the restaurants. We had a neighborhood where my then girlfriend lived, very wealthy place with a dock on a backwater channel. Nobody fished it. we used to crush them crab. Ended up catching a shark there on a crab line. Because of the murky water color, I didn't see it until it was about 6 inches from my hand and I will never forget that moment in life. Total crap my pants. Ended up being a 3.5 foot Sandbar shark.1 point

The muscles used to draw a bow are the levator scapulae it is located in the upper back and it aids in back tension by pulling the shoulder blade in and up toward the neck. This muscle works together with the trapezius and rhomboids to create what is referred to as “back tension” and is used to hold the bow back at full draw. The trapezius and rhomboids are also located on the upper back and provide the ability to move the shoulder blade towards the spine as well as up and down. A strong upper back is essential , with not only the ability to produce force but also the ability to hold weight steady for an extended period of time.1 point

The legalization of marijuana is going to enable many more people to use it for the sole purpose of intoxication. With so many people who are emotionally unbalanced, mentally disturbed and/or intellectually challenged, using marijuana will just magnify their mental health problems. I listen to the medical mental health experts, not politicians who want legalization to make money and win votes from marijuana users and sympathizers with no regard for the mental health problems it will cause.1 point

Had it raw and it was good. I was expecting something a bit more unique in flavor but it was a very good. I’ll have to pick more and start using it in some cooking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Fall spots are not same as spring,, listening dont use a turkey call at all, try a hawk scream , or loud crow calls, even a elk bugle. Had one time that use to answer a horse whinny from across the street. Put boots on ground fresh droppings in pile under roost trees, can see drag Mark's on logging roads, tracks in mud and visual observation. East facing slopes are prefered especially if fairly steep. You may find melted feathers in areas of roost trees as well. You may need several differnt locator calls , a silent dog whistle works as well ,I have more locator calls including sever different owl shooters, almost more than turkey calls I carry..1 point

Looks nice....where did ya find it. I have been looking since January. Basically have given up for now.....Covid has driven the boat market outta control. New boats 19-21'......do not exist on a showroom floor and used boats are selling on average 3-5 more than pre covid. Had a 21' Larson lined up to look at on Keuka the first week of April and the guy must have gotten so many calls he re posted his ad on Craigslist and upped the price 3000.00. Then he emailed me and said...sorry first person to email bought sight unseen. I don't care how good a boat looks or runs with muffs. I would never drop 15,000 without running it in a lake under load. Sent from my SM-A716V using Tapatalk1 point

Making a noise works. Spooked a buck last year, gave it a good yell of "hey!" and it stopped dead in its tracks and turned. And then I missed because I rushed and I'm a shitty hunter.1 point

Stopped a boat load of deer with Baaa, or whistle, not running ones though ( slugs work well though ) , and you gotta be ready to shoot fast . Ive found adding a sign also helps .1 point

Picked up this beautiful early 70’s .22mag 6 shooter recently. Seeing as I have ample .22 wmr ammo and no handgun to shoot it in i was on the hunt for a new revolver. I was initially looking for a k frame until i came across these handy little square butt j frames on gunbroker. 3.5 inch barrel with nice adjustable sights how could I resist! I have several round butt j frames that are better for concealment however the square butt frame is pretty nice for shooting. Im generally not a fan of the round butt magna stocks with out a grip adapter but these square butt stocks work great. I will say she has some bark when you touch one off, wow! This weekend i plan on doing some accuracy testing. I will post my findings.1 point
