This morning was a fun hunt. We had 4 people hunting and all of us saw deer. After being too slow to climb up this morning I was too fast climbing down. Just as I touched the ground a big doe spooked 30 yds from me. Oh well. One of our group shot a doe,and it was just the guy we all wanted to see succeed. He has been bowhunting for over 5 years and has not gotten to harvest anything yet. We climbed down after giving his doe some time and helped tracking. Good blood from the start and the doe didn't even make it 40 yds from hit site. We all celebrated this morning. He was way overdue.10 points

Hit the cape a few weeks back. Big striper on the fly. Tons of big blues. And some bonito. Epic trip Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk9 points

One distant 4 point this morning in 3S. Very thick in there today and with very little time to scout this year I actually got a little turned around on land I’ve hunted for years!!! Found some super heavy runs through tall grass on the walk out which may be my spot for tomorrow morning. Mama Crappy always smiles on day one of Hunting season. Day 2-91…not so much! Favorite bow season picture. First and only time my wife has come out to sit in the woods. She needed a break from being stuck inside the house. We had good conversations and even got to see a deer at last light. Favorite picture from the regular season. Our thanksgiving day 10 point. This day is probably second best day hunting all time only behind the year before when her and I connected for the first time ever together on a scraggly 6 point also on thanksgiving. Made it out for an afternoon sit after watching three bucks near my stand this morning from the house. At 6:30 a small spike steps out and feeds for a little bit and back in. Fifteen minutes later a spike, three point, and a basket six come out and feed. Forty five yards away, to dark to shoot, and nowhere near as big as any I saw all summer. Maybe later in the season but to early now to shoot one of those dinks. I'll probably be sitting out for awhile with temps getting back up in the 70's.2 points

I think they will average higher than that this winter…. at least I hope so. Years ago I was averaging $11.00 for a rat. One of these days I’m going to get a bucket of 110’s and set up the marshes along the Hudson River. There use to be a lot of black rats in those marshes back in the day. I’d like to mount a black one to complete the Grand Slam of muskrats. LOL.2 points

9/29 I was driving home this morning after spending the night with buddies at Camp Serenity, which is run by Wounded Warriors Outdoors Adventures, when I received a call requesting help with a tracking job. The hunter told me he had shot a 9 pointer at 40 yards and believed he hit him too far back. He waited 2 hours before looking, but bumped the buck out of a bed at 80 yards. Going in too soon on a gut or liver shot was the only mistake this hunter made. He made a great decision by backing out immediately and waiting until this morning to go look. He was only able to advance the track a short distance this morning due to being in the cedars….tough tracking there. This is where he made another great decision….he backed out without grid searching and called! Luna made short work of this 375 yard track. If the hunter had continued pushing that buck last night there’s a good chance we would not have recovered him. I wasn’t there for the field dressing, but the hunter reports the arrow caught lung and sliced part of the heart. The entry point was back quite a ways, but the deer was quartering away. Poor Kunox has had to track 2 deer that were still alive while Luna gets the dead ones. His luck will change soon.2 points
