  5. Had a chance to get my hands on some 22 ammo and purchased a bunch of Browning BPR 22 LR stuff, this ammo pretty much duplicates CCI Velocitors which is substantially more powerful than regular ammo. I have never shot any myself so I was interested to see how it performs, got out one of my best shooters, a Winchester model 52B sporter which has the reputation of being the King of the 22s. This gun is a Japanese reproduction made back in the late 90s I think and the quality in my opinion rivals the original Winchesters, it is one beautiful rifle. I have fooled around quite a bit with various premium hyper velocity ammo, the main complaints you will find is it does not have the gilt edge accuracy of some of the regular standard stuff. I am quite pleased with this Browning ammo and it shoots about the same as the CCI accuracy wise, not the one hole groups of standard velocity but good enough for Squirrels and would be very good for Fox and Chuck within it's range limits say 75 yds for Squirrels and out to a little over 100yds on Chucks. 8. Setup in the saddle over a mock scrape along a rub line with the wind in my face since 230. Fingers crossed that this is the year I finally break my dry spell and kill a buck with my bow.

  9. I would be willing to bet there is a lot more here like Grouse than there are for a non citizen socialist as yourself, most here let the political stuff slide and do not get involved and that can be a big problem as a group outdoorsmen and gun owners are way too complacent and need a fire lit under their asses. 12. What a fantastic hunt this afternoon. Until I missed... Had 8 doe and fawn coming walking by at 15y. Finally a nice 8pt followed. Have no clue what happened, but my arrow hit 5' to his left. He then proceeded to walk over and snif my green lighted knock. Got a second arrow knocked, and was about half draw when he decided to vacate the area.

  13. Just arrow this small six pointer, about 30 minutes ago. 25 yd shot got him to pause with a grunt. He ran 35 yd and collapsed dead.

  14. I have been involved in these battles since before you were born, belong to a bunch of organizations and put my money and votes where my mouth is to fight these knuckleheads. The first thing I do is contact elected officials with my concerns and as far as talking to liberals about guns and hunting and actually changing their mind been there done that. These folks all have websites and forums just like this one spouting their anti everything venom, but don't take my word for it, go ahead and join a few and plead your case and see what happens, don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out after you are banned. Below is a list of winners to get you started all in with the Democrats by the way. As for me I have watched this country getting turned into a shithole for years and it is good old hardball from here on out for me, if you don't like what I have to say don't read it!!! Al

  18. I passed on that nice 8 pt two days ago hoping for something bigger. Had a mishap last night with a much larger buck which would of been my biggest bow buck. Ok so I head out this morning. Great morning for sure . In stand and look up to my food plots and see a giant buck. Biggest deer of my life. He starts walking through the plot and hits one of my logging roads. I see him messing with a rub but I hear another deer. It's a doe headed right for me. That is what he was following she turns and heads east 20 yards below me. I'm ready the buck starts to move and does the same thing. I'm full dram for about a half minute I need two more steps. He commits and the arrow flys right under him. I feel like my follow through sucked and I dropped the bow. She ran for a ways back to food plots and he trotted off after her. I don't think he was spooked. My brother has a 140 buck mounted at my cabin. This deer was much bigger. You probably think I was crazy but I think it might push 160. Rack has 10 perfect point that are long, has mass and spread. I'll call him the "once in a life time buck" he was that big. I hung for another 2 hrs and had two more bucks chasing does. Here is a video of a small guy chasing. BTW in the video you see a small creek. The buck I missed was on the side closest to me. I'm frustrated at myself for these screw ups. I guess it's what keeps us coming back. Be safe guys, Bucks are on their feet!

  21. Went out with my son and a good buddy this afternoon for a Canada Goose field hunt. My son called in a flock and we all picked out a bird and dropped all 3. Hunt was over as there is a 1 bird limit here. It was a beautiful afternoon and we all had a good time. First pic is my son and I with my yellow lab and the birds. Second pic is our buddy with my dog and the birds. valoroutdoors.com

  26. 8A 31deg, very slight N wind. Been in stand since 6. Really exciting morning to be in the woods. Had a doe walk behind at 40yds on neighbors property at 7:15. At 7:30 i heard thrashing and the loud clack clack as two solid bucks went at it. That was 200ish yds away near another stand. They were loud and big enough that I could see them pushing corn around even from that far away. Then around 7:45 three doe moved from woods to corn about 60 yds to my right, feeding away. Shortly after that I heard the bucks square off again from the same spot. I made the decision to move stands to get a little closer to the action. Didn't bump anything on the way over. Now I'm in that other stand. Cool morning so far.

  27. I take them out whenever they show some interest. Most of my kids started asking around 2. I never plan on shooting something at that age just try to have fun. This is from last week. I took her to a blind I knew we would see deer from. She fell asleep 5 minutes after the picture. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  31. Funny thing when we mess up on big bucks , 15 or so years later we remember it like it was yesterday. I have 3 big bucks I couldn’t seal the deal on and remember it easily . Best of luck …

  32. Got in late and decided to clear a few lanes before I sat. 15 minutes after I got situated my target 8 point walked in just out of range. I grunted it in twice but he just wouldn't come in the last 10 yards I needed. Tonight really recharged my motivation. And I found some fresh rubs and scrapes. Good luck to everyone going out in the am. I'm on Dad patrol until the afternoon. Maybe I get the kids to help plant my last few apple trees for the woods orchard.

  33. Hunt #15. Scrapetree stand 3-dark. Saw and heard nothing dead calm. Corey was in Pine and had the same. Scrapetree has been unusually slow this year. At least so far. Pull some cam cards along the way and some decent bucks at night. One broken forkhorn in daylight. Looks like we have two different 8 points. I will take either one but the one is wide! Think we had a bad pic of him earlier but have a good pic now. Hoping the action gets better from here on out. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

  35. Last 24 hours so has been an uptick. A few friends and acquit have tagged on 8s in the 115-125” range across Monroe/Livingston area. This AM was a crap show with neighbors doing work right at dawn. On way to Ohio for the next day or so. Have to take a shot. 7:30 is 30 ish minutes after dark so gotta try it. The other buck is new this season first time on cam but I think it’s one from last year that I had a few times.

  36. Definitely stay off the shoulder !!!! Loaded for the wifes gun and used nosler partition. Over kill for deer some say but I don't think they will grenade as bad as some of the thinner jacketed bullets. Only one deer killed with this gun bullet combo to go on . Pretty impressed with penetration on the nosler partitions . Quartering away at 60 .Entered behind shoulder. Acrossed the chest cavity out the neck hitting off side leg that was extended forward. Shattered leg.Was not impressed with corlocks.

  40. Probably not enough market to sell them this year. Record size crops for most and many dont have enough bins to pick into. Ive heard some folks are doing that then piling hay on them to try and sell for juice in the winter. Our crop is huge as well. Working dark to dark seven days a week and were still 10 days from being done.

  42. Notice who tries to distract and misdirect the thread. Must be die hard Biden supporters, or they wouldn't even come to the political section to post their whining. Why don't I do "Live from the Woods"? Because I LIVE in the woods. I've been hunting for 52 years now and could tell stories about hunting for days that would make you envious. But I have two great loves in life, hunting and freedom. That's why I follow politicians and the government. I can multitask, meaning I can think about both at the same time. I think both are very important. My schedule is not like most, I can hunt or fish from Tuesday noon until Friday noon. Those are my times. I love being outdoors when the weekend warriors are not. It's much quieter and I can really concentrate. I don't have internet access when I'm outdoors, and wouldn't want it if I did. I'm out there to find peace and solace. Respite from all the lunatics that infest society, as well as interaction with people who don't interest me. I'll post things about hunting that impress me. Or maybe a scene like my driveway on a nice morning. I'm not interested in critics. I'm here for like minded people.

  43. I was looking at the forecast and said the same. Next weekend back to 70. This is crazy. I know the rut comes around regardless but geeze it's going into Nov. And we haven't hardly seen a west wind in weeks . That is just almost weird at this point. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

  44. Slow start for myself this morning. Not super motivated. Todays weather will be like all the other days I’ve hunted and haven’t seen anything. 42 degrees right now and only getting warmer with a high of 65. If I had more days to hunt I’d probably skip today but when time is limited you hunt when you can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
