Who is the first person you call/text?

So who's the first person you call or text when you get a deer or if you finally get the big one you've been chasing? I still hunt side by side (or facing opposite directions in a tree) with my father so he's the first to know, but the first person I always text or call is my mother.

Same. It's Dad first to tell him what happened and to start walking towards me. Then it's Mom & Wife to tell her we won't be home on time.

My dad is always my first call even if he's at work lol. This year I shot a doe and while I was talking to him on phone shot and missed another one that had come in lol. Then wife lol

Great question!

For me, it is always my life long friend, property and hunting partner, Gary.  Followed by my wife and grandsons. Many times over the years, we have been hunting together, when one or the other scores. But we are always excited when the call comes, saying "Got One"!!!

I call The Mermaid....When I kill a deer I always take it up to my   buddy's house to hang it and skin it, so I call her and let her know I'll be home late..She's not much interested in looking at dead critters until they're cooked and ready to eat.

My hunting partner Shawn, this will be our 30th year hunting together!  I hope he calls me this year!!!  Now that his son's are getting older I think they might get him out and into the woods more!

I call my Buddy first as we spend most of the season together now that Dad doesn't hunt anymore. Then the wife to say Im going to be late, and then my Dad.

I will text my son first then brother and brother in law and another longtime friend/hunting buddy. Dad usually gets a call soon after. Now that my son is old enough to hunt hopefully he is the first to know many times over in person.

My daughter whether she's out hunting with me or not. She's been "outscoring" me the past few years so I have to let her know everything so she doesn't think I'm slacking!

Depending on how tough a drag it was, probably my first call is to my chiropractor to set up an appointment.

Well before cell phones it was a whistle to whomever in the family was close by, since cell phones it's been my dad,I'm not sure who gets more excited him or I.

Usually one or the other of two brothers I have been hunting with since we were in highschool 20 years ago. I'll never forget how our parents would write us excuses to leave school early on Fridays so I could drive us down to my uncle's hunting camp. It was a lot of fun for a couple of teenagers to go hang out with "the guys" for the weekend.

I'll text my daughter first, then the wife.
You guys need The Real TC to text you asking on how it's going as he saw my check in from Live from the woods thread. My reply the last 3 deer is " gorgeous day but I'm not seeing squat ". And within minutes I shot deer. I'll send a pic minutes after answering text and get " thought you weren't seeing anything !"
