Fall Foliage Reports

I have noticed in the last week or so, the leaves really starting to change in the hilltowns of Albany County. Usually about the third week in October for peak foliage color here.

It all varies greatly here in NY. What are you seeing in your area??? Pictures would be cool too, as we go along!

Fall is the most beautiful time to be outside in NY. My favorite season.

Noticing very little change in the capital region. Was out on Sacandaga Lake Saturday and there was a little more color than the previous week but still not much change...

Slowly starting here in 7p. Leaves are falling quick and only a couple trees have really started changing that I've noticed.  Get into the next couple weeks they will really be showing.

A little color on the ride in to work, but I am really waiting for the first frost, then it will really be on.

Green ..  is the color in the southerntier  have one small maple with one branch showing some color .

The stressed out, not so healthy trees are starting to drop. The last rain storm had the back roads covered in some spots.

I'm seeing some early leaf drop too. Not really changing color much, and just dropping.

In the past week and a half I have been to Essex, Warren, Saratoga, Green, Schenectady, and Albany counties. A week ago Essex and Warren were just barely starting to change. Saratoga on Sunday was still green. Schenectady still green. Green still green. Here at home in Albany over the past couple days a slight change, leaves are dropping but turning on the ground. Thatcher was still pretty green this morning.

Very early signs in the Adirondacks 2 weeks ago.

More leaf drop than color change, but starting to see a bit of that on trees that always change early.

Couple maples in my backyard are starting to turn. The one on the right isn't too healthy.

Black walnuts have started to drop which are always the first to shed their leaves

Working from buffalo to albany ,biggest change is utica east so far few trees here and there greens turning yellow, lot of corn brown as is soybean. Home in cuba ashes and maples are starting to change

Little change here in ogden,ny.soybeans are brown as gman said.leaves dropping in lawn already as are acorns

Dogwoods are thinking about turning here.

Here the leaves ae falling before turning. Not much color here.

Spent last week in the Adirondacks at a place on Hoel Pond, just off of Upper Saranac Lake. We watched the amount of color increasingly rapidly. From maybe five percent at the beginning of the week to about twenty five percent by the end of the week. Even more over in the High Peaks region. 
Here in Livingston county only a little bit of color and a lot of Black Walnut leaves dropping.

Not much here in Monroe county . Two more camping trips and a run up to Old Forge the second week of Oct which should be good I hope !

Mrs grampy and I are heading up into Vermont on Saturday. Hope to see some nice color up there?

I was in Star Lake over the weekend and I would say 15-20% color. It should be good in a week and a half when I am in Old Forge for a long weekend.
