[Five Seasons]

My oldest son has been asking to go on a hunt with me this year so yesterday afternoon we headed up to my property in 6G and setup in a field surrounded by thick woods. I had been hunting a nice 8 that I have had camera pics of all year but didnt want to pass on an opportunity to hunt with one of my kids so we setup in a spot where the buck hadnt been seen all year. 
Knowing that the rut was nearing the end, I decided to use a decoy and a little code blue just in case. 
In the field by 2:30. At 4:15 I grunted 5 times and the deer I have been hunting all season runs out of the woods with his nose to the ground and immediately tries to breed my decoy (I guess it wouldnt hurt to have another one....). He dismounted when he was staring down my barrel at 75 yards and dropped in his tracks when the .300 Win Mag barked. 
Sadly, we see very few large deer and by most standards on this site, its probably a less than impressive deer but to my boy and I it was the greatest thing that could have happened to us yesterday. Bonding time and getting a deer that we were specifically targeting.  In a couple months he will be 14 and it will be his time to start sitting with a gun.

Just got out fell and slid down the hill this morning I was caked in mud and soaked.

I’m not hunting today, but Woke up to find out my Dad shot his 2nd buck this year. Appears to be another one we had 0 pics of all season. Story to come later- I gotta go help him get it out.

Just got out fell and slid down the hill this morning I was caked in mud and soaked.

I’ve fallen in the exact same spot three times this year, all in the dark with my climber on my back! I finally remembered to check the spot on the way out and there was a half buried wet log there lol

Saw over 100 deer in bow season.  Have seen 3 in gun so far.  

Nothing last night , nothing this morning.  I miss bow season......

Dad shot him at 60yds quartering away. Bullet lodged in skin on the way out. He cut it out to keep. Our 4th 2.5 y/o buck combined (3 for Dad) on his new property he bought in 2016

Must have gotten some luck yesterday Sitting so close to the Turkey Feathers family dropping off sam’s buck. Had a nice doe 50 yards away at 8am. Double lunged her and she went 60 yards on a death run dropped in sight.

Was out all morning and only 2 does seen and both tiny. Snuck into some thick n nasty just now and it is like a freaking highway through it. Here's to hoping they are travelling through it this afternoon.
