Well for one thing my wife and I were headed on a cruise the end of May , Cancelled ! I am (maybe) thinking of retiring this Fall .... still out on that one ! Usually go to Jersey shore (Cape May) for 2 weeks during the summer meeting the kids and grand kids , now not so sure .  401K is like a roller coaster , slightly unhinged on that one . The sky isn't falling but it is cloudy ..... just sayin !  Thoughts ?

My wife and I usually make a trip back to Illinois twice a year, once over Thanksgiving, and again I've Memorial Day. Looking like the Memorial Day trip isn't in the cards this year. It's unfortunate since our families don't get to see our daughter often.

I won't be making my annual gobbler hunt in Ontario, and my Canadian buddies won't be coming down here

Hoping things are OK so they can come down and hunt deer with me in November...

Kinda sucks because one of the guys is in poor health and I wonder how long he will be physically able to come down and hunt...It has been touch and go the  last couple of years...

No trips other than a weekend or two away over the summer.

The major glitch in my life right now is an addition was put on my home mid January and then beginning of February they broke thru to phase two which consistent of a new kitchen, re-designing of the old dining room and basically a full redo of the first floor of my home. Well since the virus has hit work stopped the end of March.....can't order a front door or barn doors for the closet and mudroom. Countertop is also on hold and no appliances in sight.
With all that's going on in this world I really can't complain, my family is healthy and this will pass, and work will resume hopefully soon.

I was slow in planning a summer vacation this year and I guess that was a good thing.  Nothing needs to be cancelled since nothing was booked.

The trip that won't be cancelled is next weekends youth turkey hunt with my son.  It will be his first Spring hunt.  We got a 4 hour drive to our leased land and usually stay at a hotel while up there, but to avoid all human contact we will be camping out in a tent instead.  We'll bring everything we need for the couple of days and sleeping outdoors should just add to the experience.  We are both looking forward to this very much!

Since Gov Murphy of NJ closed all the State Parks + State Forests, I and many other Jersey Turkey Hunters have had to find an alternative area. WMAs are still open. Problem is all the Dog walkers, joggers, Mountain Bike riders, and hikers are flocking to the WMAs. .   Yesterday, I and a good 25 other Turkey hunters had to stand outside in the cold wind for 1 hour to get a hunt permit for Newark Lands. For me-- a non resident Turkey Hunter-- it cost me 45 Bucks.    Now this place is only open on Tues + Thrus-9am to 1pm. I got there at 8.55am and was back around 13 men. 1 hour later and chilled to the bone in the biting wind-up there were a good 12 more Turkey hunters behind me in the line. Clipboards were given out and, I finally got mine. As no one was allowed inside. Everybody including me had our masks on.              I hunted this area 20 years ago. I drove by an area where, I hunted and found 3- toed tracks in the mud.  So that's going to be my spot.  I don't like to do this-- but, I will go in just a quarter mile and sit and call.   Gov Murphy made a huge mistake in closing the State Parks + Forests!!

Can you please stop complaining about the rest of the public land owners every other post , stateland was intended for alot more then shooting a bird .

All plans are up in the air for us. Camping was suppose to happen on Mother's Day Weekend as well as Memorial Day Weekend and 2 weeks after that. Mid August we are suppose to go on a big family vacation to Virginia Beach I'm staying positive and saying we will still be going on that. The last trip of the year is Labor Day Camping and I would hope that we can still do that.

I will be fishing Oneida lake the first weekend of June, come hell or high water. Worst case scenario I’ll sleep in my truck. I actually believe things will be opened up by then

Erie county just closed all camp grounds yesterday and I have heard the other counties are set to follow. This is an absolute bummmer........but I guess it wouldn't be good having a bunch of people sitting around camp fires not social distancing in the middle of this pandemic.
