Bumped two on the walk in but nothing yet. In a real thick area with a lot of sign My longest shot is gonna be about 25. Heard some walking near me before light but nothing. Not even a squirrel.

Nice morning warm no wind . The turkeys are going nuts all around me , flocks of geese overhead .

This side of the woods is pretty open hopefully I’ll see something somewhere .

Think my deer were bedded 30 yards behind my stand.  Got settled in and heard deer, sounded like they were getting up cause they got nervous enough to move.

In the woods. Missed a nice doe yday. What a bummer. At the range is one thing.  Shooting at 5.30pm when is so dark in the woods is another thing.

That feeling when you pull a card on the cam in front of your stand and see this visiting the scrape 40 mins before you  got set up...lol

Hunting a friend's property in ag land and it was rough getting in. The hedge rows are thick! Then I got to a wooded area below suspected bedding and it is thick in here too. I was considering setting up on the ground as most trees are pretty skinny. It took me a long time to pick one out that offered some shooting lanes. Well,I ended up being to slow to get up it,a group of does came though heading towards that suspected bedding and busted me before I had my bow up.

I should have set up on the ground in the hedgerow and would have had a ten yard shot.

That goes to show,trust your gut.

I guess I am working out the kinks in early season.

Wind and rain here in the 802.  Temps this week have me interested in hunting, but 4 days of rain will keep me out of the woods.  Next to no bucks on cameras any how.  

Good luck to everyone out there.  I am going to try to force myself to kill a doe for the first time in 10 years, so we'll see how that goes.

Caught this on a salmon spoon in Champlain yesterday (bow opener).  Wind was wrong for my best stand so I went fishing

Not a freaking thing all morning until 9:15 then had a little bachelor group stroll by at 30 yards. 2 sixes and a four point. all 1.5 passes.
