  1. Picking up the new sxs tomorrow. And to my surprise, I signed a contract on a new home today. Didn’t really think they would accept my offer. Love the house and good deal considering the market. I think I blame @Biz-R-OWorld for this one. Awaiting attorney approval - guess I don’t count. I better get back to a hunting obsession - way cheaper Lol

  10. I can recall struggling with a couple guys to get a safe down into basement. Carefully lagging it to the floor. And then standing back admiring my work. As I put away my hammer drill, I notice my hand tool cubes and pegboard. With every tool needed to break into safe. Aw Crap I agree a hundred percent with Nomad but in addition I have alarm system, cameras, pit bull and redhead wife with Glock. The redhead is the most scary

  12. Honestly a couple school districts here have different groups of parents that are just getting the run around trying to voice their concerns. I totally get where you're coming from with district admin but strongly disagree the kids didn't make a difference. There was over a hundred kids they can't turn away. It was all over more than just the local news. If school districts had kids show up like this in mass they have reason to address nys ed and request direction stating current mandate can't be enforced without severe concern. Nys isn't going to start failing hundreds or thousands of students. That destroys their national image and credibility they can manage the school system. Nys can't reprimand district and withhold funding if it goes down that way. Kids can make a difference. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

  13. Another old school method to remove rust is to cut a potato in half, and use it to sand the pan down with kosher salt. Thats the method i was taught, and how my family used it on the farm years, and years ago.

  17. Also a great way to clean the pans. Little hot water bunch of salt and a potato instead of a sponge and really helps scrape off any burnt on food. Then rinse hot water and dry off. Finally a thin coat of oil to store and you're golden. And just gets better and better each time you cook with it I get new stove Thursday and have next week off, so I'll be able to work on it then

  19. God I wish. I don't know that I have the time, energy or ability to change the fact that some of the worst people do the best in our society. The best I can do is try to keep a reasonably open mind, do the best with what I have, admit when I'm wrong, not be prideful when I'm right, and be happy in whatever outcome that gets me

  25. So I get what people are saying and know where many doubts even come from but with practice and verification using cementum annuli analysis results you can get good at any method. We get harvest data and a lower jawbone from hundreds of deer every year and send in dozens of them. Three of us panel age the jawbones and a vast majority will not stump us. Only several of the 200 or so we'll hand in that don't seem to make sense. Often any dental issues or other stuff can be sorted out. Still rarely do they come back and we're off on age. The idea is still to put all the pieces together but to trash and disregard some of them just means you suck at using them. Just like a puzzle some make sense more than others but they all fit. 27. Left field Hillary Clinton did the very same thing deleted classified documents and her emails nothing happend to her ,but I do think that as president he can do that since he is the president who has the power to declassify any document he wants to as well . In the name of National Security the president can probably destroy documents they have loopholes in the law for that . You are being naive if you think obama clinton and the rest of them didn't do the same. Its standerd operating procedure that's another one of those CNN fake news disinformation stories . .

  29. If you truly want to get rid of the Biden Harris era, hope to God he doesn't run. His divisiveness and how much he is hated by so many are truly a huge weakness. Most any other candidate would have beaten out Biden handily. He's created a lot of this on his own and he can't even see it. Regardless of whether you think it's not a good reason to vote against him it's still there. I refuse to vote for either of them, the same as Hilary and Trump. I refuse to vote for someone I don't feel should be president. I am hoping and praying he bows out. There are strong candidates out there that would have a much better chance. How about a Desantis/Haley ticket? Or Mike Lee? For the good of the country he needs to go away. Want a celebrity.... Pick Mike Rowe. My dream team. Mike Rowe/Desantis. Then Nicki Haley for all foreign policy and Rand Paul to run the Fed and Financials. Mike Lee for domestic policy. But a Desantis/Haley ticket rolls over anything the Dems can put out there. I liked a lot of policies Trump put into place , but it amazes me how people can be so blind to his misforgivings, divisiveness and general actions. And then say well you have to take the good with the bad. No you don't have to. You can actually have a president that is not only good in policy but also a decent person. If you don't see all of his flaws then people need to be more open minded. He lost me with his insulting demeanor that isn't presidential, signing bad stimulus deals, how his own generals thought of him, how he threw Pence under the bus, how he acted on Jan 6th and his inflated Ego, his divisiveness of this country is as threatening to the country as anything. We don't need him and you don't need him running and losing so we have 4 more years of the mess the Dems have created. Move on to better candidates that are right there and ready. We all need it. 31. This is my "Deer Palace" The view is spectacular. I have a high backed Desk chair on rollers, a desk, heat, solid rifle rests attached to each window,a urinal that goes into the ground, great WiFi reception (the height and wind makes hearing a challenge so it's just visual hunting. The stairway makes for easy, safe entry and exit. The stand is so airtight that I actually put in a CO detector in it. So far My shots have ranged from 15 yards to a bragging one shot kill at 389 yards. It's been up for 5 years and 12 bucks have been harvested off it. (Yes I let other people use it) I have a parking place at the stand's base. The deer literally ignore my parked Kubota 1100 utv and walk on by. Keep on improving your property and the stand will happen. Good luck and good hunting.

  32. 1. Soil testing can be done instore or sent out (if you want a really detailed report) by any local feed store (A GREAT place for advice as they know what grows in that area.) If you need lime…. get it. You really need to get the pH to be correct as it improves both seed germination and health of the plot. Lime takes about 2 tons per acre/year to raise the pH level 0.2/year, so it may take time to get the pH perfect (Buy the lime in bulk as it will be cheaper than those bags. Most places that sell lime will also spread it for a nominal fee saving both time and money.) 2. Unless you have lots of equipment, you better use generic Round-Up (unless the real product is on sale) first and follow the safety precautions. I’ve used herbicides for 30 years and the third hand I now have makes farming a lot easier. (come on a little humor is always fun) 3. My Advice is: don’t spend money on expensive seed until you get the ground ready for a successful field. You can spray it then rough it up planting buckwheat. Late this summer you can spray again and then spend the money on a good white clover planting it with some confidence of success. 4. Definitely a local feed store is a plethora of great advice…..not only are they experts, the customers will offer their 2 cents and lots of times it’s spot on. 5. You can make pretty good cultipacker with a wooden door and some rocks. I bit the bullet 4 years ago and bought a Kasco no-till Eco drill. It plants everything from clover to beans and corn. I’ve planted into killed sod or freshly tilled soil. The drill does a great job and it comes with a cultipacker attached. If I had first purchased this instead of buying a lot of equipment (plow, disc, spring-tooth harrow, cultipacker etc….I would have cut my planting time in half.) 6. FYI If you have any Ash trees on the property now is the time to have them cut. They are all going to die so make some money. I took the ash, and some oak, cherry and both hard and soft maple off of 5 acres. I got enough to pay for ½ the cost of the drill or a great down payment on a 50 hp tractor with a bucket. If I wasn’t so old I could get about 200 face cords of wood off it. That way I would be letting light hit the floor and increase browse and carrying capacity of my property. 7. An old biologist said, “If you don’t have rabbits on the property, you got lousy deer habitat.” Since then, I am always cutting brush ( knee to waist high) in my hedgerows and always jump both deer and rabbits when hunting them. 8. Whatever you do enjoy it. In a few years when that big buck comes to your fields the smile on your face will be well worth it.

  35. Belo's tips that nobody asked for. 1. After you've purchased your crossbow and realized you're now less of a man, see if the dealer will take it back with no restocking fee, the storage is now their problem. 2. Give your crossbow to your nephew who is obsessed with the walking dead and zombie videogames. He can store it and hopefully have a fun time playing with it in the backyard and not hurt one of his buddies. Storage is now his problem. 3. Repurpose your crossbow as a boat anchor. While certainly there are better and more affordable options for boat anchors, if you remove the cable the crossbow will do just fine and you can keep it nice and secure in your boat storage cubby. 4. Chanel your inner goonies and set up a booby trap. This solution will require a trip to lowes or home depot and some creativity, but if done correctly, that amazon delivery guy will never think about trying to peek in the window again. This storage solution is the most effective because your crossbow is now active 100% of the time. Warn your wife and kids of course. 5. And probably the best solution of all, donate your crossbow to an old bowhunter who can't pull back the strings anymore. Keep this guy in his stand come autumn and allow him to keep enjoying the crisp fall air and crunching leaves of the approaching 8 point buck with his nose to the ground. If you don't know an old bowhunter who can't pull back the strings anymore, seek out a local VFW or organization that provides hunts to handicapped individuals. A hunter in the woods with something, is better than a hunter not in the woods at all. -Happy Friday, Love Belo

  38. I have to agree about avian predators. Fifty years ago (gasp!) there simply were a lot less birds of all kinds, probably due to the use of DDT. Pheasants and rabbits were common and often seen in fields. Now there seems to be hawks and other predatory birds atop every other telephone pole in the country. That's a slight exaggeration of course but back then you rarely saw one. Pheasants, which were prone to be out in the open, became easy targets. Of course we also have a lot more coyotes now and from what I've seen fishers are effective and their numbers are growing. Things change, they always do.

Its funny how if its a Republican you guys on the left expect the guy to be like saint Mother Teresa but if its a Democrat he can be Satan the Devil Himself and you guys don't have a problem with it but besides that the guy can be totally incompetent and you still vote for him . 42. At least Hillary was smart enough to post a secret service agent by the door of the room she kept the classified server in, protecting it from getting hacked, but that was a decade before her husband gave North Korean spies access to a top secret nuclear facility and the plans + material to make nuclear weapons. Trump is minor league stupid compared to your mentors. Enjoy Mexico. Ole.
