None of the 10 cell cams even had a pulse last night! Not one deer!! Just pics of coyotes, fox and coons! Trying to keep the faith, but lose some with each passing morning I wake up to dead cams and have dead woods every day. Surly one of these days... My son has hunted a property 2 miles away for the past 3 seasons now. He said it seems like the bucks don't start seeking or chasing until ~11/9 there. Trying to remain positive. In the mean time, heading out for hunt #20....

Been on the road again this week. So tonight will be my first planned sit since Sunday morning!

Last day of work for a bit....Pretty sure I'll be out at 2 to get finished packing and house stuff. Then go time, hopefully. Partner is still feeling down sick. I got anitbiotics and bingo....I'm on day five of them and feeling 75% better. Partner got on them Wednesday, but still feeling sick and not turned the corner yet. Not sure whatever we caught but it has/is whooping our butts. Not Covid, four tests between us. It’s really crushed our hunting so far.

Hoping we at least timed the rutcation right, both in health and activity. Had a daywalker once each day so far this week on cams, but haven't seen that "explosion" yet. Cams in areas where I let them run all summer and haven't moved - activity fell off a cliff this week, so certainly a shift.

Phade, hope you are feeling better and can power thru the best part of the season.  I always think I have nice bucks and then I am reminded what REALLY NICE bucks are from your pics!

Haven't logged on in a while. Only 2 sits this year so far. Rattled in 2 mature bucks Wed night. 8H. They ended up fighting right at dark and I got out of there before they made me.

Cows were laying down when i left for work at 7am this morning.  I always say if cows are laying down, deer are too.

I have 15 days off fom now till November 29th so looking forward to that

Super slow morning. 4 small bucks and 2 does. Not sure whats going on but November has been pretty disappointing so far. Cell cams on 6 different properties relatively quiet last couple days too

We saw one buck far off crossing a field, left to grab breakfast and saw a lone spike in a cut soybean field and another field had a buck chasing.

I’ve heard it said that if you put a group of monkeys on an island with some typewriters, given enough time , they’d eventually reproduce all of Shakespeare’s works .

Well sat this morning till 10. Nothing. On the way out on the main trail I found a ground scrape near a small pine. Not sure if I missed it on the way in cuz it was dark. Or if he made it while I was in stand. 24 degrees and extra crispy. If something was moving you'd hear it from a mile away. 6 sits now on this state land no deer sighting.

Deer were feeding in my fields well before dawn and had moved out by 6:30. There may be some afternoon moment but I'm not going to be able to get out until this evening.

My son was out on our property in 4H -Durham- this AM and he saw 3 big doe , 2 small ones , 2 bucks and 2 yearlings and no shots , he's desperate to use the Crossbow but knows better ! Tomorrow !!!

Had a giant go by a NY cam/stand that I likely would have been in this AM given the conditions. Argh....

Giant went by at 9, a 3 year old went by at 11.

Been a long while since I visited virtual deer camp here but glad to see it is still alive and going strong. Life gets in the way sometimes but we seem to fall back on the things we love even if we can't spend as much time as we'd like to doing those things. Got out for my second bow hunt of the year this morning and what a beautiful morning it was. Someone was looking down on me for sure.

Back on stand on the little bean field , yesterday morning I made it here and up with a single large deer 200 yards out in the field .

This afternoon I watched a young buck scream across it as I just got the field in view ,not sure if he heard me or what .

Wow! I wish 4 small bucks and 2 does was a slow morning for me. That's more deer than I've seen all season
