Bullet size doesn't really matter, as any well placed legal, bullet will do the job on deer. What matters more, is if the shooter behind the trigger can do their part. Or even the individual firearm. The hunter who shoots his 223, throughout the year. And knows it's POI well, will usually fair much better than the hunter who grabs a 30-06, that they have not fired in the last few years, or at all. Also, some guns, just shoot terrible! Most all of us has owned a gun, that for whatever reason, just didn't shoot like it should have. Regardless of bullet size. Whatever caliber one chooses, get out and get some trigger time on the range!! That makes much more difference than the size of the projectile.9 points

The only hunter in my family before me was my great Uncle Sam. Passed away quite a few years ago but a recall him as a young boy. He was a hoot. Always the life of the family parties. Hunted the ADK. The first pic is him in the middle. The second pic are some ADK bucks he and his brothers killed with my father sitting on the buck and grandfather next to him. Looks like it was behind the old family home on Akinson St in Rochester. Anyone know the car? Just came across them. Kinda cool. Thought I would share.7 points

.22-250 or .223. I will lend you a deer rifle if you need one, but please have some respect for the game. These are for shooting little guys in black pajamas or woodchucks.6 points

I’ll go the other way and say any magnum cartridge that the person can not shoot worth a darn. Watched guys at the range that flinched so bad they couldn’t hit the bullseye at 50 yards..5 points

Pretty bleak 2018 beginning so a few months ago wife, daughter and I booked a trip to Disney. We’ve taken her at age 4-6-8-11 and now 16. Our last big family vacation as next year we’ll be touring colleges. Free dining plan is spectacular! They tend to throw at you as slower season. Lots of character meals . Went to Not so spooky Halloween where they have special fireworks, parade. Characters and patrons dress up. Space mountain was completely dark , real dressed up people added to Pirates of the Caribbean. Very short ride lines as everyone waiting in candy lines Ended up in Epcot 2x Magic Kingdom 3x Animal Kingdom 2x and Hollywood studios once. Average temps were 90-94 with high humidity. Usual Florida 15 minute shower / thunderstorm. Walked 11-14 miles a day. Went to Guy Fieris Chicken Shack that has 23 dipping sauces , missed him by a day. Hit the rides hard. New Avatar Flight of passage is amazing. Feels like you’re flying atop a banshee. Saw a flock of Osceola turkeys walking across the fairway at Magnolia golf course from the monorail. At the water park Blizzard beach we saw a 4’+ black snake of sorts slithering through the bushes as we waited in line. Met a slough of Buffalo people. First family lives right near Sodfathers archery academy. Dole whip with rum , yes please. 50’s prime for daughter and I to share peanut butter and jelly milkshake as we’ve done every trip. Decided every rental car there is a Toyota Corolla in silver or white. Making our silver one fun to find in huge parking lots. Bought some new snow camo in Storm trooper pattern. Always drive to Cocoa beach to play in the ocean before flying home. Got stung by a jellyfish wading the shoreline. Had a Magical time.4 points

Bored, so I thought I'd share a story... Two years ago, my son was obsessed with this one buck that he was getting trail cam pics of. This was the one and only buck that he wanted. Two weeks after getting his last trail cam pic of this buck, he got another pic of him, only to see that the buck had broken off his drivers side! My son was bummed to say the least! My son was out scouting today and happened to find the antler that the buck had broken off 2 years prior! Notice the chunk of skull that's still attached to the antler! That must have been one hell of a battle that buck was in to break off a chunk of it's freekin' skull like that! Good God! I have a feeling he's probably sleeping with that antler in his bed tonight! BTW, he found the antler ~100 yards from his stand.2 points

Final set up it going to be 28 inch draw and about a half turn off from max 70lbs so say 68lbs. 350gr arrow and shooting rage broad heads.2 points

Pics would help, scope info too. How long is a piece of string? Here's a 85' LH BDL Blued w/ sights that is in great shape for comparison.... https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/rifles/remington-rifles-700/remington-700-lh-bdl-270-exc-cond-.cfm?gun_id=101085993 There's usually some wiggle room. Good seller too, never has junk (done business with him several times).2 points

Dead children walking...everyone gets to pick their “last meal” before school starts! Deep fryer was busy: French fries for the daughter-thought for sure she was going pizza but glad she didn’t considering the heat. Hellfire steaks(heavy coating of dry mustard and then red hot to make a paste) for Mrs Crappy and boy #2 Panelle Sandwich (chick pea flour that is cooked, formed to loaf, sliced and fried) with fresh ricotta and shaved parm on semolina rolls..it’s a Brooklyn Sicilian thing from Joe’s in Ave U. That’s for me, grandma and Boy 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Since this is never going to happen, I'd probably shop around and see if I could view some sex tapes first, and kick a few tires before I make a decision. Might as well make the most of this fantasy....2 points

I got a cigar box of “old” coins that were my father in laws , he died 20 years ago. It seems such a task to go through them one by one . Maybe I’ll leave them to my kids, who won’t go through them either .2 points

Glad you enjoy them, tomorrow is our last full day, depressing, I want to live here so bad. Everyone is so nice, its slower paced. Everyone works, no one tailgates you, no trash on roadsides, and so on. Jen actually enjoys it, I bought the best reviewed seat I could find, as well as it has a lot of storage in it for groceries, extra fuel, the helmets, etc. That box has her comfy for hours, and hours. What also helped, was the 8" rise foot pegs, that get bolted the floor boards. They help her stay up in the seat securely. We do plan on a 50" side by side hopefully within 2-3 yrs tops.1 point
