snopro6r
My trusty old ruger 25-06. I would be cheating on the old girl if I took a different gun out opening day.
moog5050
I loaned my savage 220 to one of the QDMA mentees so my first time hunter is using whatever 20 gauge Culver gave me on Saturday. I think its a CVA single shot.

Rack Em Up
I'm torn between my Remington woodsmaster 742 in .30-06, Savage Axis in .25-06 (New Purchase), Winchester Model 70 in 300 Win Mag(New Purchase) or my Savage 212 with a Nikon Slughunter shooting Remington Premier Expander. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Edited November 11, 2019 by Rack Em Up

I will be using the same gun that I have been using since 1985 when I bought it. A Remington 700 in .270. I have other guns capable of taking deer, but I am not the type to be switching to something else since this gun has done the trick. Some guys take gun A on a rainy day or gun B on a sunny day or gun C for brushy areas. I am certainly NOT one of those people. The same gun will get the nod no matter what.

Al Bundy
I’m taking my New ultra lite arms 7mm08. Fairly new rifle, haven’t taken a deer with it. I’m hoping the 10pt I passed on gives me a shot again.
Moho81
Even though we are in a rifle area now I can not stray from my 12ga 1100 with a red dot scope for opening weekend. I will have my savage 30-.06 and new Ruger 6.5 creedmore with me as well but they wont come out unless the 12ga knocks one down Saturday.
CharlieNY
I was surprised to see that a lot of hunters are using a 7mm-08. I thought I was a rare exception. My Savage Trophy Hunter in 7mm'-08 has downed several deer. All were 1 shot kills behind the shoulder shots. Recoil is very light and meat damage is minimal with the 7mm-08. It will be with me on opening day and throughout the gun season. valoroutdoors.com

Fletch
i probably won't even know where I plan on hunting opening day until Friday lol. If I'm home in shotgun the Ithaca Deerslayer 20 gauge. If I am in a rifle zone probably the Marlin 30-30.
