Mike32
What is your weapon of choice to hunt with, bow, gun or hunt with both? Edited October 5, 2021 by Mike32

Lawdwaz
If I had to choose, it’d be archery equipment.
Sir-diealot
Bow, but my body is breaking down to the point that I fear this may be my last year with archery equipment.
Splitear
I hate the term “weapon”. That being said, I’ve taken way more deer with a bow than a gun. However, nothing beats the excitement of opening day of gun season. When you hear those first shots being fired… Edited October 5, 2021 by Splitear

JALA RUT
Bow is my favorite by far but still enjoy slinging my rifle and my muzzleloader duing those seasons too.

crappyice
Bow…the silence, stealth, and close contact adrenaline rush can’t be matched by a gun. Admittedly I’m not a “gun guy” since living close to NYC guns are harder to enjoy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Robhuntandfish
whatever weapon is legal. I like the bow season the best but for numerous reasons other than the implement. But if choosing one I like the muzzleloader. Just not a big fan of the late cold season in southern.
airedale
My views on hunting are much like when I go out to eat at the "Garden Buffet" at the Turning Stone Resort, I love trying everything. My hunting consists of much more time spent on small game, varmints and birds than Deer which I try to get done and out of the way as quick as possible. So becoming proficient with decent quality rifles, muzzleloaders, shotguns, handguns, airguns and archery equipment to the best of my ability has been always been my goal and I like them all. I know my limitations and and use each implement accordingly. Al Edited October 5, 2021 by airedale
mowin
Bow. Killed way more deer with the bow. Plus it's warmer and during the rut. Older I get the less I like the cold. I do enjoy the couple days leading up to and opening day of rifle. Getting together with friends and going over plans and tactics is a good time. stubborn1VT
I am awfully fond of my 7mm Rem Mag. So far, I have had a very good run with my crossbow. Both. Anything but a muzzleloader. I haven't enjoyed using a smokepole very much.
Nytracker
Crossgun ... heat seeking bolts.. if i could find some of those explosive tips would be great. Revolvers in the gun season 480 srh.. 44 sbh.. 41 bh... muzzleloader in late season if I have to.
Daveboone
I used to love bow hunting, but didnt like compound. I loved recurve but couldnt shoot enough to stay proficient. I then went largely into muzzleloading. Cap and ball traditional ml for me, but as the weather gets really rotten I will tote my centerfire. grampy
Bow is my passion, and has been for decades now. But for how much longer I don't know? My shoulders are getting kinda bad at 64. Though my athlete grandson has me doing a bit better this year, working out. But I do actually enjoy each phase of the NY deer season. Bow, crossbow, rifle, smoke pole.
phade
The few split seconds of being full draw, anchored, and ready to touch off the release feel like an eternity and a nano-second all at once. Followed by the sound of a double lung or even better that gurgle grunt hitting the heart. I'm not sure it gets better than that in the act of hunting IMO. I am pretty sure in that moment my adrenaline/dopamine could let me lift a car or knock out Mike Tyson (LOL, rrrrright).
